We think the teachers at UpVerb are pretty special people, which is why we want you get to know some of them through our new “Meet the Teacher” blog series. Today we’ll kick off with Iga, polyglot extraordinaire (because she speaks four languages!).

What is your name? My name is Iga.

What languages do you teach? I teach German and Polish.

How long have you been teaching? I have been teaching for about 3 years, almost exclusively online. I discovered this job two years ago, and I don’t think I would want to teach any other way.

What is your favorite place in the world? Why? My favorite place in the world is Greece! I love Greece and plan to have a short vacation there soon. I love Europe and travelling.

What do you love about working with UpVerb? Working here lets me meet amazing people with so much motivation and commitment to language learning, people with a lot of courage and determination. That is definitely what I love about this job! Teaching at UpVerb is amazing because it gives us so much freedom to do our jobs the best we can — we use live documents, pictures, notes, and we see each other via video call. Our students can plan their schedules individually, according to their needs, and book classes on any day and time.  At UpVerb, we can really challenge our students. That it what matters: helping students get where they want to be. I also really love that UpVerb offers amazing challenges like #LevelUp or #CorrectMeIfIamWrong (my favorite one). Everyone can find something that works for them.

What is your best advice for someone learning a new language? Never give up! Set your goals and keep going. Work on it every day! Language learning is like playing a sport or working out. You have to stay motivated. You can easily achieve your goals by practicing regularly, having a little bit of help, and self discipline.
