Our instructors will prepare you for your trip abroad, job interview or a professional language exam. Whatever your goal is, we’ve got you covered!

We have asked our teachers about the best advice regarding the exam preparation they can give their students. Here is what they say:

  1. Start your exam preparation months ahead of your exam. Don’t leave it until the last moment…
  2. Focus on typical exam questions…
  3. Use a model answer. …
  4. Never stop expanding your vocabulary…
  5. Learn to use clues!
  6. Revise with flashcards, use the words in a context.
  7. Have contact with the language every day, use free internet resources.

But here comes the crucial. First of all, make sure you know which language exam you need. There are several exams accepted at universities or institutes you are going to study at. You will surely find the answer regarding the exam you need, check the official website of your university.

You might not be aware of the worldwide acknowledged examinations that exist, so we would like to give some suggestions:

  • Cambridge Exam English
  • Trinity
  • British Council: APTIS
  • Oxford Test of English

  • Escuela Oficial de Idiomas (EOI)
  • DELE Cervantes

  • Goethe Zertifikat
  • TestDaf
  • TELC

  • DELF and DALF

Read carefully the job offer you are going to accept and see if they mention the language exam. Many employers require from you to have a certain language competency level: B1, B2, C1… (Learn about the CEFR). At UpVerb we are going to assess your needs and your level and customize a perfect plan for you in order for you to achieve your goals.

We will advise you regarding the exams you might want to take and make sure you understand where to go to register for an official exam. From that point there are months for you to focus on the exam and prepare specifically for the test. Your assigned teacher is going to make sure you are going the right path!

As an example we would like to show you one of the places you can register online for a worldwide German Language Examination in the US.

The starting cost is $120 (the higher level the bigger cost). You can have your German examination in Germany and at Goethe-Institut facilities worldwide as well as with some examination partners near you. All you need to do is select the country in which you wish to have the exam. The available locations for your exams within the US are Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Washington.
